
A non Governmental Organization, DOHS Cares Foundation, has begun its plan to spotlight Orphans and Vulnerable Children in its Educational Advocacy Campaign in 2025, with its establishment of Club Therapy at Brainy Kids Foundation, on the 2025 International Day of Education, in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The DOHS’ Club therapy is a Bibliotherapy Club that is focused on empowering young people with the resources to become social change advocates and contributing to actualizing the sustainable development goals in communities. Participants of the Club are mentored to address the interconnectedness of the SDG’s with a focus on SDG 1 ,2, 3, 4, 5, 10 and 17.

The Founder of DOHS Cares Foundation, Ololade Ajayi, revealed that the organization was initially focused on sensitizing children about SDG 5, SGBV, however, since It is increasingly clear that gender inequality, health and wellbeing and education are interlinked, it means Programming in any one area alone, without linkages to others, is incomplete: Hence, the organization’s decision to implement a holistic approach to building the capacities of young people to become change agents in their communities.
In her words, “Participants of Club Therapy will be mentored and trained to understand the SDGs, Human Rights and to use their experience to spotlight the plight of other children in similar situations using poetry and drama to draw attention to societal ills”.
The organization had earlier been to the Home in December 2024 to sensitize the children about SGBV and also donate items in its usual style of celebrating the Christmas season with orphans and vulnerable children.

Ololade Ajayi said that the organization which commenced the Club Therapy mentorship session on the 2025 international day of education (Jan 24) has a goal for the children to lend their voice to societal ills such as Femicide, SGBV, toxic masculinity, and negative stereotypes.
DOHS Cares Foundation is known for its commitment to rescuing at-risk children from abuse situations and placing them in care homes such as Brainy kids where they can thrive free of hostility.
The Chief Executive Officer of Brainy Kids Home Mr Adekunle Mafe revealed that their mission was to ensure underprivileged children has access to quality education and shelter, therefore pledged the readiness of the home to fully engage in activities of Club Therapy as it will entail Mentor-ship on Sustainable Development Goals and therapy through Literature.
DOHS Team members also reaffirmed their commitment to positively influencing and mentoring the children through Club Therapy whose objective is to launch rockets of hope into mental spaces overcrowded with trauma.
Club therapy is an educational advocacy initiative of DOHS to foster young people into a career in advocacy. And to recognize early, the challenges the world is faced with and their agency to address it.
